ROTARIANS FROM PFORZHEIM VISIT CZĘSTOCHOWA

On May 27, 2022, the students of German Studies and the JDU representatives of the Polish-German Society met with the members of the Rotary Club Pforzheim visiting Częstochowa at the invitation of the Częstochowa Rotarian branch. The main purpose of the visit of the guests from Germany was to provide help to our neighbours from Ukraine, who, fleeing the war, found shelter in Częstochowa and the region, as said by Paweł Klimek, M.A. – the group leader from the Rotary Club Częstochowa. The meeting, organised in the Exhibition Gallery of the JDU Library, was attended by young Germanists, taking advantage of the opportunity to actively talk in German. An interesting discussion about the situation of young people during and after their studies, about their ambitions and plans, as well as the role of the European Union in creating development opportunities in the field of education and work, ended with a joint tour of the exhibition "Heritage of humanists. Johannes Reuchlin 1455-1522", joined by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities - Professor Przemysław Sznurkowski. The knowledge of the language and the freedom to communicate with it, as well as the mature approach of the students, received praise from the guests.
