EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER AND ACCUMULATION SYSTEM
European Credit Transfer & Accumulation System is a student-centred system designed to make it easier for students to accumulate credits within an institution and transfer them between institutions (from one university to another).
ECTS credits represent the workload and students' learning achievements (what they know, understand and are able to do) of a course or programme. 60 credits are the equivalent of a full academic year of study. The student workload amounts to around 1500-1800 hours per year, thus one credit stands for 25 to 30 working hours.
