Prof. JANUSZ KAPUŚNIAK - VICE-PRESIDENT OF EUROPEAN POLYSACCHARIDE NETWORK OF EXCELLENCE


On 11-15 October 2021, Professor Janusz Kapuśniak – Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations participated in the 7th International Polysaccharide Conference in Nantes (France). An important point of the conference was the plenary meeting of delegates of the European Polysaccharide Network of Excellence (EPNOE), during which the election of the new authorities of the association for the years 2022-2023 took place. Prof. Janusz Kapuśniak was elected Vice-President of EPNOE responsible for education. The tasks will include coordinating the mobility of EPNOE members under the Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, CEEPUS programs, organizing webinars, coordinating the preparation of e-learning courses for students, doctoral students, as well as business representatives, organization of summer schools and cooperation with COST actions implemented with the participation of EPNOE members. The EpNOE Executive Board consisted of: Prof. Pedro Fardim (President, KU Leuven, Belgium), Prof. Karin Stana-Kleinschek (Vice-President for Research, TU Graz, Austria), Dr. Carmen Freire (Vice-President for Conferences and Workshops, University of Aveiro, Portugal), Prof. Laura Nyström (Vice-President for Membership and Awards, ETH Zürich, Switzerland), Prof. Janusz Kapuśniak (Vice-President for Education, Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, Poland) and Dr. Avinash P. Manian (Vice-President for Communication, University of Innsbruck, Austria). During the plenary meeting, it was also decided to organise next year's EPNOE Junior Scientist Meeting, which will take place in Aveiro, Portugal, and its organisation was entrusted, in addition to the University of Aveiro, the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) and our University. The organiszing committee consisted of Dr. Arkadiusz Żarski and Dr. Kamila Kapuśniak.
