During the New Year's meeting, which took place at the Częstochowa Philharmonic, the "Merentibus" medal was awarded to Ludomira Grądman. The outstanding pianist has been associated with the Institute of Music of the Faculty of Art of our University for years.
Among this year's winners of the Award of the President of the City of Częstochowa for the best engineering, bachelor's, master's or doctoral thesis related to the promotion of Częstochowa was Maciej Hyszko. Together with the award, the doctor received a special distinction for his doctoral dissertation entitled "Wyobraźnia pod nadzorem. Dzieje wybranych częstochowskich miejsc pamięci po II wojnie światowej z lat 1945-1989” ("Imagination under supervision. The history of selected Częstochowa memorial sites after World War II in the years 1945-1989"). The dissertation was prepared at the Faculty of Humanities of Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa under the supervision of Professor Beata Urbanowicz.
