On July 4-5, 2023, a 5-person delegation of Kherson State University (Ukraine) visited JDU: Rector Prof. Oleksandr Spivakovski, Dr Liubov Petukhova (Dean of the Faculty of Preschool and Elementary Education), Prof. Yevheniia Spivakovska (Professor at the Department of English Philology and World Literature named after Professor Oleg Mishukov), Dr Ivan Hlukhov (Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport) and Dr Kateryna Drobot (Vice-Dean for Organisational Affairs and Education, International Cooperation and Digitisation).

The visit began with an official meeting with JDU Rector, Prof. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska and Vice-Rectors. Reference was made to the long-term cooperation between our Universities dating back to the previous century. The extraordinary importance of friendly Polish-Ukrainian relations at various levels, especially at the level of cooperation between our Universities, was emphasized. The importance of educating young people in the spirit of internationalisation, innovation and mobility was stressed, because it is they who will build a better future together.

The delegation from Ukraine also held a number of working meetings with the authorities of the JDU Faculties: the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Dr. Władysław Biegański Collegium Medicum and the Faculty of Humanities. At each of these meetings, details of cooperation in the field of academic exchange, joint diploma programmes and the Erasmus+ programme were discussed.

The visit ended with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, i.e. a declaration for the renewal and intensification of cooperation between our Universities on many levels.
