FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HOSTED GUESTS FROM THE BALKANS


On February 6-26, Dr. Marija Banožić from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ina Ćorković, PhD student from Croatia, visited our University as part of the PROM program. During stay, they participated in research conducted at the Department of Dietetics and Food Studies. In addition, they had the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of other laboratories of the Faculty of Science and Technology, e.g. Laboratory of Environmental Studies and New Materials and Laboratory of New Drug Formulations. In addition, Marija and Ina had the opportunity to present the results of their previous research, which they conduct at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology at the University of Mostar and at the Faculty of Food Technology at the University of Osijek. In her research, Marija uses and develops new techniques for the extraction of bioactive compounds, while Ina's research involves the use of microencapsulation to immobilize bioactive substances from food. The meeting gave an opportunity to exchange new ideas, acquire knowledge, skills and competences to work in scientific research. The arrival of Marija and Ina created the opportunity to make new friendships and establish future cooperation.
