​EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES INITIATIVE: WORKSHOP IN PADERBORN


On October 26, the representatives of JDU - Prof. Janusz Kapuśniak – Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations, Prof. Marcin Sosnowski – Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Dr. Olga Binczyk – Vice-Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Małgorzata Kurek, (Institute of Linguistics), Bartłomiej Kowalik, MA - Specialist for Foreign Relations - took part in a working meeting of the consortium of this year's edition of the "European Universities" initiative. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of partner universities: Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek – Croatia, Le Mans Université – France, University of Castilla–La Mancha – Spain, Universität Paderborn – Germany (leader), Kristianstad University – Sweden, University of Ferrara – Italy.

The basic principles of the "European Universities":

- a common integrated long-term strategy in the field of education, linked as far as possible to research and innovation and to society in general;

- a common European "campus" of higher education;

- European knowledge creation teams ('challenge-oriented approach'). 

During the meeting, the structure of the application was discussed, and the representatives of the individual universities exchanged ideas and good practices used in their units. In addition, the consortium management model was discussed and brainstorming was carried out to choose the name of the consortium. Representatives of individual universities undertook to fill in detailed questionnaires about their universities before the next project meeting.
