Research visit of PhD students from Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek at JDU as part of PROM 2019 project


In the period between August 30th and September 19th two PhD students, Silvija Šafranko and Ana-Marija Cikoš, from Croatia visited our Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. During their stay, the students worked on the production of dextrins from potato starch and they performed the analysis on the obtained samples. The analysis included both physical and chemical characterization of the dextrins. Moreover, Silvija and Ana-Marija had the chance to present their current research they are working on at Faculty of Food Technology Osijek, University of Osijek. The main focus of Silvija's research is preparation of nanoparticles and their application in pharmaceuticals, while Ana-Marija's research encompasses the analysis of macroalgae from the Adriatic Sea and their application in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The gathering was a chance to exchange and create new ideas and friendships, acquire knowledge, skills and competences for working on a science research and linking them together as a basis for a future collaboration.
