CHANGES, CHANGES, CHANGES ...

The celebration of the 49th inauguration of the new academic year took place on October 3rd, 2019. In her opening speech, Rector of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa prof. dr hab. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska, highlighted the strengths and achievements of the whole JDU community in the past year.

With the new academic year, JDU introduces completely new bachelor’s and master’s degrees in: economics (1st cycle programme), innovative technologies and modern materials (1st cycle programme, dual studies), German for business trading (1st cycle programme, dual studies), kindergarten & pre-school education (long-cycle programme), tourism & recreation (2nd cycle programme), cosmetology (2nd cycle programme), music in public spaces (1st cycle programme), to name but a few.

The new academic year also means a completely new academic structure of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa coming into effect on October 1st, 2019. Four Faculties have been replaced with six new units: the Faculty of Law & Economics, the Faculty of Art, the Faculty of Exact, Natural & Technical Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Health Sciences. The structure of each Faculty itself has also changed, with the introduction of new institutes, chairs and departments.

As for doctoral students, newly admitted Ph.D. candidates undertake studies in the recently launched Doctoral School of JDU which has replaced the so far existing third-degree study programmes for Ph.D. students.
