On August 24, 2020, the new authorities of the Regional Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools (PL: RKRUA) were elected: the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk - President, the Rector of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa Professor Anna Wypych-Gawrońska - Vice-President and the Rector-elect of the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice Professor Grzegorz Juras - Secretary General.
The members of the Conference are rectors of the Universities of Silesia and Opole, the president of the Katowice branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the director of the Silesian Library, the representative of the Main Council of Research and Development Units and rectors of seminaries of the Archdiocese of Katowice, Czestochowa and the Diocese of Opole. The aims of the RCRAS are to develop a common position of rectors and express opinions on matters related to education and academic community of member universities, to inspire and coordinate cooperation between universities and scientific institutions, as well as to undertake joint initiatives concerning education, research and investment activities with the participation of government and self-government authorities.
