Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa has been awarded the Golden Laurel of Skills and Competences in the category ‘Science and innovation’ granted by the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice. The ceremony of awarding the distinction to our Rector prof. dr hab. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska took place in the House of Music and Dance in Zabrze on January 19, 2019.
To date, among the distinguished award winners have been Pope John Paul II, President of the European Commission José Manuel Durão Barroso, Secretary General of NATO Javier Solana, an emissary between the commanders of the Home Army and the Polish Government in Exile in London Jan Nowak Jeziorański, European Commissioner for Energy Andris Piebalgs, Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Bogdan Borusewicz or an outstanding composer Krzysztof Penderecki.
